NBC and Comcast announced on November 20 that the customers of Xfinity X1 will be able to cast votes to their favorite artist on The Voice directly on the TV using their voice remote. This collaboration will be the first for the industry which has given a new way to its viewers to vote in real time for their favorite artist while watching this four-time Emmy Award-winning show live on TV.
According to the Vice President of Entertainment Services for Comcast Cable, with this facility, X1 users will get the best experience of in-home entertainment.
At present, Xfinity X1 is the only partner of The Voice which is offering the voting option on the television. By pressing info button or the remote or by saying ‘Vote for the Voice’, NBC’s The Voice fans can access the on-screen ballot. A panel will appear on the right side of the screen which categorizes the artists as per their team. With this, users can easily browse their favorite performers and vote for them. However, during the live broadcast, a viewer can cast only one vote per artist via his X1 platform.
Comcast, the leading telecommunication company, collaborates with digital networks, studios and programmers to expand and evolve the user’s entertainment experiences on television and other devices. These partnerships have provided unique experiences to the users during popular programs and events which includes feature films, fantasy football, and Olympics.
