Garmin International Inc., a division of Garmin Ltd., has announced a new enhanced and shock-resistant smart watch, which is packed with specialized tactical functionality and with enhanced mapping for navigation. Plus, it’s available with improved fitness training features. This third-generation tactix smart watch comes preloaded with full-color TOPO mapping, advanced performance metrics, wrist-based heart rate, special “Tactical” activity profile as well as over 26 in-built activity for any kind of adventure.

Because of improved mapping and navigation features in this watch, its users can navigate effectively and keep on their course at a glance. Although this smart watch is available with digital topographic maps being preloaded on the watch, the users get ability to save a maximum of up to 16 GB map data for different areas and other types of maps, including marine charts. It has many excellent built-in navigation features like gyroscope, altimeter, barometer and 3-axis compass. Apart from these, it is also equipped with GLONASS and GPS support that make for the best tools to ease tracking than a GPS alone in more challenging regions.

Not only its features are built to endure the challenging regions, the body too of the tactix Charlie smart watch is made of a scratch-resistant black Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) coated bezel along with UTC markers. Moreover, it has stainless-steel button, black titanium rear cover along with an always-on 1.2” display, which is equipped with domed sapphire lens and readable in sunlight. Because of its compatibility with QuickFit, the watch’s users get a choice to swap between leather, silicone and metal bands without requiring any tool.

Being a complete package of amazing training and navigation features, tactix Charlie provides several features, specifically available for tactical operations, including night-vision compatibility, projected waypoints and Jumpmaster mode. Users can utilize Jumpmaster mode for airborne activities, and can use from three jump types – HALO, HAHO and Static.

Additionally, users can also set this watch to dual-positioning mode that allows them to view to sets of coordinate systems together like latitude/longitude and MGRS on a just one data screen. When the night-vision mode is enabled in the watch, the settings of backlight screen gets decreased to the point, where it doesn’t intervene with the operation of night-vision goggles.

Because the watch is equipped with a wrist-based heartrate sensor powered by Garmin Elevate™ technology, it provides users with round-the-clock heart rate monitoring without the requirement to wear a chest strap. Further, users can easily view and analyze their activities with training load, training status, VO2 max, recovery time and lot more.
