Record A Show
Press the “Guide” button on your Charter remote in order to load the interactive programming guide of your Charter DVR. This shows live and future programming arranged by time and channel. Use the “Page +” and “Page -” keys or the arrow keys on your Charter remote to scroll up and down the programs by one page at a time or one at a time respectively and find the show that you wish to record.
Further, you need to highlight that show and press the “Rec” button on your remote to start its recording. The show starts recording right away under the default recording settings. To see the additional recording options, just press the “Rec” button twice. This will open the recording settings menu for the selected show.
You may also program your DVR in order to record the same show every week at the same time by selecting the option of “Set up a Series Recording”. Schedule the recording by selecting the option of “Record Series with These Settings”.
Modify Scheduled Recordings
Press “My DVR” button on the Charter remote to open My DVR screen.
You can use the arrow keys on the remote to scroll through the scheduled recordings and find out the show which you wish to edit. Highlight that show and then press “OK” on your Charter remote. The program’s schedule settings will be loaded.
Now, to change the present scheduling settings, choose the icon of “Modify Recording Settings”, which resembles a wrench.
Press the “Ffwd” or “Rew” buttons to skip or review (respectively) the content. Hit “Stop” button to stop the program.
Review And Pause Live TV
To pause a live TV show, press the “Pause” button. A live program will be recorded when paused till the buffer is filled.
You need to press the “Play” button for resuming your live show right from where you paused it. You may also catch up the live broadcast by pressing the “Live” button.
To review the last few minutes of the live TV, press the “Rew” button. And, to fast forward your recorded content, you need to press the “Ffwd” button.
