How To Hook Up U-Verse Set Top Box With TV
Determine the connection ports available on your TV. To obtain the best results, you should connect the set-top box to your HDTV with the help of an HDMI cable. In case your TV does not have an HDMI port and has a DVI port instead, you connect it with the HDMI port on your set-top box with the help of an HDMI-to-DVI adapter. In this case, you will also be required to connect the audio ports with the help of RCA cables as DVI only transmits video.
Connect the set-top box and TV with the help of a coaxial cable if your TV does not have an HDMI or DVI port. The coaxial cable should be connected to the “Out to TV” terminal of STB’s RF and the “Antenna In” terminal of the TV set’s RF.
Further, you need to connect the TV to the set-top box with the help of three AV cables. One AV cable for video and two for audio. Connect the video/audio output from the set-top box to the corresponding input on your TV set. The yellow, white and red AV cables must be plugged into yellow, white and red (respectively) AV Output jacks on the set-top box and the yellow, white and red AV In jacks should be plugged in the TV set.
Plug in the power cable of the set-top box into the “Power” jack situated at the back of the STB. After that, plug in the cable’s other end into an electrical power outlet. Switch on your STB and TV.
If you used a coaxial cable to connect the set top box to your TV, then set your TV to channel number 3. Set the video input of your television to the proper input option using the “Input” button of your TV remote. For example, if you have connected with HDMI, you need to use the HDMI input option on the input menu of your TV set.
